North East India Ready To Welcome Tourists Again, After COVID 19

The last two years have been very very tough for us in the tourism sector. It seemed like a never-ending dark tunnel to us, and we are sure, to you too. But it looks like, we finally starting to see a faint light in the tunnel.

With hope and wish that you and your friends and family have been safe, we share the good news of North East India slowly starting to open again for tourism 🙂 .

North East India Tourism after COVID 19

As things start to stabilize and as more and more vaccinations happen every day, things are looking much better. And based on this assumption, north east India tourism slowly has started to open.

All the states have put in SOPs for tourists coming to the various North Eastern States, the details of which can also be found here.

As of now, after the second wave of the pandemic, Arunachal Pradesh tourism and Meghalaya tourism have come forward to open their doors to welcome visitors.

While Arunachal Pradesh started accepting tourists from a few weeks back, Meghalaya is going to start accepting tourists from 1st September 2021.

SOPs for Entry In North East as a Tourist

All the tourists wanting to visit any state in North East India must follow the SOP set by that particular state. The details of the same are listed below:

Tourist Entry Procedure for Arunachal Pradesh

  • People traveling to Arunachal Pradesh for tourism will need to apply for ILP beforehand, with a copy of their vaccination certificates
  • At the time of entry to Arunachal Pradesh, ILP will have to be produced along with COVID vaccination certificates and a COVID -ve report that is not older than 72 hours
  • You should not be having any COVID-related symptoms

Tourist Entry Procedure for Meghalaya

  • People traveling to Arunachal Pradesh for tourism will need to apply for eInvite beforehand.
  • At the time of entry to Meghalaya, a copy of the eInvite will have to be produced along with COVID vaccination certificates and a COVID -ve report that is not older than 72 hours
  • If you are not vaccinated or have taken only 1 dose of the vaccine, you are still allowed to enter Meghalaya as a tourist provided you have a COVID -ve report that is not 72 hours old
  • You should not be having any COVID-related symptoms
