Guwahati Kaziranga Majuli Tour Plan

Day 1 – Guwahati To Kaziranga

Start from Guwahati to Kaziranga after being received by North East Explorers’ representative. If you arrive early in the morning, have your breakfast and then, start your drive through the plains of Assam dotted by random, small towns all along, to the Kaziranga National Park. Depending upon when you reach, you can visit the orchid – park for a cultural show.

Day 2 Kaziranga Jungle Safari [Jeep Safari and Elephant Safari]

Today is the day when you go into the wild. Kaziranga Elephant Safari timings are allotted the night before so, depending upon the slot you are assigned, your safari timing can be anything between 5 AM to 8.30 AM. The elephant safari in Kaziranga is a great way to get very close to the wildlife of the national park. Rhino sightings in Kaziranga are great so, in all likelihood, you would have seen quite a few one-horned rhinos [among other wild animals] by the time you come out. Head to your homestay and relax after your breakfast. Then by noon, head again to the jungle for a longer safari. The Kaziranga jeep safari is twice as long and takes you deep inside the forests. Great sightings are almost certain. Evening free.

Day 3 – Kaziranga To Nimati Ghat (Jorhat) To Majuli

Start early and head to the safari entry-point. You will explore the jungle slow, from the back of mighty elephants. Enjoy watching the one-horned rhinos going about their daily life from close quarters. After the elephant safari, start for Nimati ghat to catch our ferry to the Majuli. It’s a wonderful 1.5 hour’s navigating the mighty Bramhaputra. We soak-in the calm views around, smell the fresh air of the river and watch other ferries go bye. Once on the islands, we head to our Bamboo cottages and relax.

Day 4 – Majuli Sightseeing. Satras, tribal villages and more.

We start our day by visiting the Satras, the birthplace of Vaishnavite culture in Assam. We explore the unique mask-making art of Majuli by experiencing it first hand. Interaction with the artists is a good way to learn how these unique masks take shape, from bamboo structures to the final product. In the evening, either cycle around or relax by the river. Post dark, ait by the bonfire, share stories and sip your favorite brew. We also visit a nearby Mising (the local tribe of this part of the region) village(s). While on the walking tour, we interact with the locals and know more about their daily life and their culture. We also learn and see first hand, how wonderful weavers they are.
