North East India is home to some of the most fascinating and unique tribes in the world. So, it is only natural that we, being a local eco-tour operator from North East India, offer multiple tribal tours focussing on each tribe of the region such as the Monpa Tribal tour to Arunachal Pradesh, the Ziro valley tribal tour, and the Nagaland tribal tour to name a few. However, a complete North East India Tribal Tour was missing.
Not anymore!

The kitchen is the center of everything in an Apatani house, a fantastic place to see the local tribal folk ‘being themselves’.
Day 03 – Ziro Valley Guided tour

Also, get a chance to meet and interact with an Apatani shaman and get a chance to photograph Apatani shamanic practice. Reach by evening and check in to a traditional Mising tribal bamboo cottage.
Day 05 – Majuli Guided tour
Your local guide will join you in the morning. Majuli is best done at an easy pace so, it will almost take you the full day today. You will start with visiting the Samaguri satra, home to Majuli’s famous mask-making satra. You will also visit monastery of bachelor monks and get to interact with them. We will then visit the Mising tribal village(s) and spend time with them.

Day 06 – Majuli – Mon [~4.5-5 hours. Involves ferry crossing]
Leaving Majuli behind, you will take the morning ferry to cross over to Jorhat. After a relaxed and early lunch, we will start our journey towards Mon in Nagaland, home to the last surviving headhunters.
You should reach by late afternoon or early evening. Check-in formalities at the police station are to be done, our team will guide you. Time permitting, visit Mon village to get a feel of a Konyak tribal village.
Day 07 – Mon – Longwa village [~1.5 hours]
Today we will head deeper into Nagaland and towards the edge of India, to the Longwa village. Apart from being home to the last few surviving headhunters of the Konyak tribe, what also make the village unique is the fact that Longwa village stretches from India and into Myanmar. In fact, the Agnh’s (king) palace is equally divided between both countries.
Once in Longwa, start your village walk with your local guide. He will take you to meet the last surviving headhunters. While interacting with them, you will notice their fully tattooed bodies and faces. The old folk are always more than glad to show the same off 🙂
Spend time interacting with them, visiting their homes, meet the Angh and visit his palace.
For the night, your stay will be right infront of the Ang’s palace, at a simple guesthouse overlooking the entire village.
*Longwa sunsets are magical 🙂
