We were a big family of twelve people from Bangalore. We went to Assam, Arunachal Predesh, and Nagaland for 14 nights. Our visit included monasteries in Tawang district of Arunachal... read more Pradesh, We visited high altitude places like the Sela Pass and the BumLa Pass near the indo-Chinese border. We visited Majuli island in Assam and also went to the Khonoma village in Nagaland. We booked mainly in Airbnbs throughout our trip. Our experience; The Airbnbs were so beautiful, each one of them. Simple and yet cozy. The breakfast was simple, but we decided that we would order dinner at our homestays , instead of going in search of restaurants. So we would finish our sightseeing and come right back for a late lunch. We ordered the local foods , made by the hosts themselves. Each and every host of our airbnbs had made fantastic meals. Absolutely delicious food. Dal, rice, pulkas, two or three subzis and more. The beds were very comfortable and clean, toilets were simple yet clean. We travelled everywhere in the local Tempo Traveller.(but in the Innova - to go to Sela pass and BumLa pass) All in all , we had a wonderful time and stay thanks to Rajiv Verma and his team

Awesome Meghalaya and Kaziranga Trip - We just returned from an Amazing 8 day tour of Meghalaya and Kaziranga with North East Explorers. We covered Shillong, Cherrapunji, Shnogpedeng, Jowai in Meghalaya. Had a great experience with... read more North East Explorers - where Rajeev assisted us right from planning stage. The home stays provided were very neat, clean, safe and comfortable - where the hosts / attendents took good care of us and our requirements. Rajeev kept on checking in on us through the entire trip - which felt nice.
We also took the services of a guide for the David Scott Trail and on the DDLR bridge. Both the guides provided were extremely knowledgeable, cheerful and energetic and made the treks pleasant.
The stay at Shnongpedeng at Pioneer was amazing...across the river in a camp. They have a small private beach. The camp facilities are basic - which makes it all the more authentic with picturesque view.. The hosts at the camp Livingstar and Shining were very very helpful. The food was nice and homely.
The stays at Jowai at Have's Cove and Seuj Nibas at Kaziranga were also very good.
The cherry on the cake was Apu, our driver - who was most reliable. Being a local, he was very insightful and entertained us with lots of local tales and culture. He also served as a guide and would suggest appropriate places and timings for local sightseeing enroute. He knew exactly the places to halt for lunch, etc.
While you may feel that the overall charges for the trip to be marginally higher than the other providers, i would still recommend North East Explorers - for sheer care, comfort and reliability of the homestays, driver provided and overall planning the trip.

me and my five friends just returned from a three week tour of assam, arunachal pradesh and nagaland. from Italy I contacted Rajiv of North East Explorer who booked... read more all the accommodation for us (comfortable and clean) and provided us with a van with driver (Amar...helpful, affectionate person and very good at driving on terrible roads) . Throughout the tour Rajiv always contacted me to find out how it was going and if there were any problems. We all advise you to book your tours in North East India with this fantastic agency, honest in prices and serious in payments and in organizing everything needed for the success of the trip. thank you Rajiv for everything from the bottom of my heart

We recently embarked on a 7-day tour to North East, covering Kaziranga and Meghalaya, with North East Explorers. The booking process was seamless, and Rajiv, who assisted us, was exceptionally... read more helpful, especially considering I was traveling with an infant.
The itinerary encompassed numerous captivating places, though the daily travel proved a bit strenuous, changing stays daily. Managing food for my infant became challenging due to the constant movement, but the accommodating staff at the home stays allowed us to use their kitchen.
The provided home stays by North East Explorers were clean, comfortable, and equipped with basic facilities. While breakfast was included, the options were somewhat limited. The supportive home stay staff contributed to an overall pleasant stay.
Throughout the trip, we were accompanied by Apu, a diligent and knowledgeable driver provided by North East Explorers. Communication improved over time, and Apu, being a local, shared insightful information during the latter part of the trip.
Apu proved trustworthy, allowing us to leave our belongings in the car during our visits to various spots. However, the itinerary was tightly packed, leading to extensive travel. It would be beneficial if parking charges and entry tickets were inclusive, reducing the hassle of finding change.
Special thanks to Rajiv, who provided invaluable assistance by sharing a clinic address on the first day when my husband fell ill. Despite the challenges, we enjoyed the trip with North East Explorers and created lasting memories.
In conclusion, the North East tour with North East Explorers was a positive experience, with notable commendations for Rajiv's assistance, the diligent driver Apu, and the overall comfort of the accommodations provided by the company.
